UBS Becomes First Foreign Islamic Participating Organisation on Bursa Malaysia
UBS Securities Malaysia has joined Bursa Malaysia as its first foreign Islamic Participating Organisation, marking a significant milestone for the exchange's Shariah-compliant platform, Bursa Malaysia-i. This MOVE underscores the growing global appetite for ethical investment vehicles that adhere to Islamic finance principles.
The partnership enables UBS to offer Islamic stockbroking services through a dedicated window on Bursa Malaysia-i, the world's pioneering end-to-end Shariah-compliant trading infrastructure. Launched in 2016, the platform provides segregated services for Islamic and conventional transactions across trading and post-trade activities.
Dato' Fad'l Mohamed, CEO of Bursa Malaysia, emphasized the strategic importance of this development in expanding access to Malaysia's Islamic capital markets. The exchange continues to position itself as a gateway for both domestic and international investors seeking Shariah-compliant opportunities.
